Lesson 4: Design Your Dream Relationship

Comparing Mars & Venus in Your Chart

Is your sensual side at war with your raw, animal desire—or are your own erotic and romantic needs pretty in tune? Looking at the angle between your Venus and your Mars can tell you a lot! What helps us bond (Venus) doesn't always get us hot and bothered (Mars).

Example: Kourtney Kardashian
The eldest Kardashian sister, Aries "Kourt" has a semisextile angle between her Venus and Mars. Her on-again/off-again relationship with the father of her three children, (Gemini) Scott Disick, has been chronicled on her reality show and in the tabloids.

Her Venus is in fantasy-fueled Pisces which makes her long for the romantic fairy tale. Although she broke up (officially) with Disick in 2015, the two co-parent their children and attend therapy together, the forgiving hallmark of Venus in Pisces. The downside? Throughout the years, she has developed selective amnesia about Disick's cheating, drunken rages and false promises. When Disick woos her with apologies or reverts to the wounded bird role, Kardashian rushes to his rescue—a classic codependent behavior that can be the shadow side of Venus in Pisces.

But why the attraction...really? With her Mars in Aries, Kourtney has a thing for the bad boys. The torturous twists and turns of their relationships may secretly rile up her competitive streak. Instead of treating him like a lost cause, she gets swept into the challenge of "winning" him back or making him suffer. But in the end, she would be better off challenging herself to find someone else!

Let's take a look at how Venus and Mars line up in your chart.
